Dr. Manu Nithianantha

Dr Manu and the team at North Blackwater General Practice (NBGP) are committed to providing a comprehensive, holistic approach to healthcare for rural communities. Dr Manu is leading the team of dedicated professionals who genuinely care about their patients and are able to offer tailored solutions for everyone in the local community.

Specialties: General Practice, skin cancer treatment, pregnancy and musculoskeletal conditions including ultrasound guided injections.

Dr Manu and his team are proud to offer the provision of the state of the art multi-disciplinary facility and health services to the rural towns of Blackwater, Comet, Duaringa, Dingo, Bluff and the greater area of Central Highlands in Central Queensland for the last 7 years.

Dr Manu has been volunteering his time and expertise for many years and will continue to do so in the future. Dr Manu is dedicated to utilising his extensive experience and knowledge to assist the local community by providing sound advice and counsel and has held a number of advisory positions within a variety of organisations within the community. Commitment to education and awareness

Dr Manu is constantly demonstrating his passion to increase the awareness of the importance of health and wellbeing, especially within rural communities. Some of his commitments in this area include:

Ongoing teaching service to medical students – Dr Manu lectures to up and coming medical students throughout the entire curriculum as part of the John Flynn Scholarship program, University of Queensland Medical School and James Cook University Medical School.

Guest Speaker for the Australian Medical Association – Dr Manu recognises the importance of transference of knowledge to up and coming young doctors in Queensland and has been invited to present at Junior Doctor's conferences. The latest conference was held 28-29th of June 2014, Brisbane. Topic covered ‘Lateral thinking in Medicine focusing around careers in Rural Medicine’.

Education at Blackwater North Schools - Dr Manu has provided inspiring educational sessions for students of Blackwater State School and Blackwater State High School, with particular focus on promoting vaccination and mental and physical health.
