North Blackwater General Practices (NBGP) highly qualified GPs caring support team have a long history in dealing with patients of all ages. From newborn (and yet- to-be born!) babies to the elderly, our medical practice was established to offer professional and compassionate healthcare to the entire family. Workplace Injuries

Located at the heart of the coal-mining district,we are experienced, comply with regulations and provide prioritised appointments for workplace injuries. We collaborate with multiple allied health professionals and specialists throughout the entire process.

We are a neutral health care provider for WorkCover Queensland.

Mining, Railway and Sporting Medicals

We not only preform medicals but also identify the problems that arise during this process and facilitate the implementation of the most suitable plan. We are a Nominated Medical Advisor and our doctors are state- approved to perform all medicals.

Pap smear Clinic

Pap smear and female sexual health weekly clinic run by our female practitioner, Dr. Krisshna, Female GP.

Skin Clinic/Mole Scanning/Skin Cancer Surgery

Staying one step ahead of skin cancer is a must in our sunny climate. Our skin clinic offers checks, tests and removal of moles and can help you combat acne, scarring and other skin complaints.

Antenatal Care

Ensure your pregnancy runs as smoothly as possible and give your unborn baby the best possible start in life with knowledgeable and caring antenatal services from NBGP. We also have our own visiting midwife.

Child Health

To make sure your child is happy and healthy you need a GP you can rely on. And that’s us. For all of your child’s medical concerns including accidents and immunisations, talk to us.

Ultrasounds

We offer basic ultrasounds for both fetal imaging and diagnostic purposes including musculoskeletal and ultrasound guided injection.

Cosmetic Clinic

Our cosmetic clinic, CQ Skin, offers a range of skin and cosmetic services including:

• Glycolic Acid Peels;
• Jessner Peels;
• TCA Peels;
• Microneedling;
• Vampire Needling;
• Dermal Fillers;
• Muscle Relaxants, as well as;
• Medical injectables for the treatment of migraines.

Test Results

To discuss any test results, a follow up appointment with one of our GP’s is recommended. Please allow 3-4 working days for test results to be processed. If you do require any urgent pathology please advise staff upon collection.

Our nurses are available daily between 12.00 pm and 12.30 pm to inform you of your results if required.

NBGP utilises a digital solution to request that an appointment time is made with your practitioner to discuss non-urgent results. Where relevant, you may receive a SMS or email to prompt you to book an appointment either online or by phone to follow up on your test results.

Repeat prescriptions and referrals

NBGP offers existing patients the option to request a repeat script or referral online, without needed to book an appointment. A fee and some conditions to apply for this service. Please visit our booking page for more information.

Management of Personal Health Information

Your medical records are private and confidential. Access to your medical records is only available to an authorised staff member.

If you would like your records released elsewhere, a “Release of Information” consent form must be completed and signed prior. For an extensive summary to be released three is a fee of $40.00 attached. A basic health summary can be forwarded at no charge.

For NBGP to obtain a copy of your medical records from previous clinics, it is necessary to complete a “Records Release” form.

Both forms can be found at the reception desk. To assist, please have the name, contact details and where the documents are coming from or being sent to.

The clinic is closed daily between 12.30 pm – 1.30 pm for lunch.

Fee Information

All fees are clearly displayed at the front reception desk, throughout the practice and in our Practice Information Brochure.

NBGP is not a bulk billing clinic.

In most cases, all Concession card holders (Pensioners and health care card), DVA and children 16 years and under are bulk billed.

Fees (from 1st July 2023)

Standard consultation	$80.00	($41.20 rebate)
Long consultation	$115.00	($79.70 rebate)

All accounts must be settled on the day of consultation. We accept cash or EFTPOS.

NBGP is registered with Medicare, which allows us to process your claim on the day of your consult. To receive your rebate automatically you must have your updated bank details with Medicare.

A non-cancellation fee will occur if appointments aren’t cancelled prior to the appointment time. This amount must be paid before your next consultation. The amount will vary depending on the type of appointment. To avoid a non-cancellation fee please call us on 07 4986 1179 to cancel or reschedule any appointment you cannot attend.

We utilise a text reminder service that allows you to confirm your appointment. Simply reply with [Y] or [N] to confirm or cancel your appointment. Please contact the clinic if you require rescheduling.
